Stationery, Statues and Sea.

Hello friends,

How are we almost at the end of April already? This month I have absolutely loved having the children off school during the holidays, but it has flown by as quickly as I can polish off a medium-sized easter egg - extremely quickly!

I have spent a fair bit of April in Tenby, with family and friends. In between being by the seaside and the busy social calendars of the children, I have managed to get some painting done in the gaps, and worked on updating the Prints section of my website. I’m very happy to say the Moon series are now available - all 13 moons in either 8”x8” or 12” x 12” giclee prints on gorgeous textured paper with a matt finish. I’ve ordered some test ones and am thrilled with the results.

Next month is the final, long awaited episode of Good Omens. If, like me, you were left heartbroken by the end of Series 2, the last instalment on the 13th May can’t come quickly enough. I am relieved that the episode has gone ahead, despite the controversy with one of its creators and am hopeful that the ending will have been worth the wait. I’ve been enjoying playing around in photoshop to create some mock ups of how my paintings would look in different rooms and am quite pleased with this one:

You may remember that last month I was restoring a statue of St Vincent du Paul? Well he has now been completed and reunited with his owner. What do you think of the before and after below? The client wanted a complete repaint, from the original copper-coloured finish to full colour. For some before and after shots of other restorations, have a look at the restoration page on my website:  Restoration

That’s it for this month. Until next month,

Gemma
